Hiiiii.
So. I know I’m not a huge giveaway person, but I am totally blown away by your support and love and all that jazz lately, especially for Seriously Delish and how you’ve completely changed my life. I want to do, well… SOMETHING for each and every one of you and since I can’t buy you all a cocktail with a hug, I figured a giveaway of my favorite things would have to do.
This giveaway is from ME to YOU. I want to show you how much I appreciate you coming here everyday, the encouragement you’ve given me and your all around virtual fabulousness. You really do complete me, Jerry Maguire style. THANK YOU!
See below on how to enter to win all of these goods!
1. This Rebecca Minkoff Crosby tote. It’s no secret how much I love love love my mac clutch bags and mini macs. And my cupid satchel. I love every bag she makes and am totally drooling over this for fall.
2. Jeni’s ice cream! 4 pints to be exact. This should last you, like… five minutes.
3. A Vitamix blender. I’ve become the biggest hypocrite on the planet because for years I said I’d never buy one and would rather buy shoes. But I took the plunge earlier this year and it was seriously LIFE CHANGING. Talk about the thickest milkshake-like smoothies and the creamiest soups. To die for.
4. One year subscriptions to my favorite foodie magazines: Donna Hay and Delicious. These are my go-to for photography inspiration. LOVE. Nothing else compares in my opinion.
5. A fit bit flex. It’s been close to a year since I’ve gone on and on about my fit bit. I completely adore it – not as a workout tool, but more so as a reminder to live an active lifestyle.
6. Two of my favorite books: the Flavor Bible and Bird by Bird. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how do I come up with recipes – and one of the answers is the Flavor Bible! If I really want to make something with a certain ingredient, I’ll search it and see what flavors pair the best. And Bird by Bird… well it’s a classic that gets me through life. Pretty much.
7. Ummm…. chocolate? Do I really need to explain this one? This is one of my favorites. I need to share.
8. Gift cards to some of my favorite places: $50 to each. One to Sephora, one to Athleta and one to Starbucks. Because I’m a sucker. (if you don’t like coffee GET THE CROISSANT!)
And lastly – this colorful set of my favorite le pen pens and a moleskin notebook (MY LOVE!). It’s school supply time people!! But really, these pens are the bomb dot com. (sorry.)
To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below telling me your magic moment from this summer. Please be sure to leave a valid email address with your comment so I can contact you if you win! For an extra entry, I would love if you’d preorder a copy of Seriously Delish and leave a second comment saying you did so. You can do so on amazon, barnes and noble or indiebound – and the book will be yours in less than TEN days! EEEEEK! I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me to make the book a bestseller. My family is from upstate NY, and my sister finally got a special education teaching job this summer… The catch; it is in southern Arkansas…. My magic moment was in July when she accepted the job and i decided to go with her. We packed up almost everything we own and moved out of our parents house for the first time since college. We turned it into a 3 day road trip and made it here to start our new lives far far away from home… It was an awesome trip and we’re even closer than we were before. I’m 24, she’s 27 and we’re best friends… we were only 2 hours away in college, but now we’re 20 hours/ a 2 day drive from home! Thank god for technology and your blog. We’re doing a lot of cooking these days and you are super inspirational- so thanks!!
Finally falling in love with swimming. It’s taken over a year to actually like doing it but now I more than “endure” or “like” I truly love it.
My magic moment was going on my longest bike ride yet. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you really push yourself!
I spent every day at the pool and that is just magic.
I have two:
I got married in June, and spinning around on the dance floor surrounded by my new husband and all of our family and friends … it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about how perfect that moment was.
Stepping off the train from the airport into the busy Milan train station and seeing my new husband’s face as he had his first “taste” of Europe at 30. I will never forget the sense of awe and wonder in his eyes.
My magic moment was a chance of a lifetime month long trip around Europe!
My magical moment this summer was having all my children under one roof for an entire weekend. In a cabin with no running water, no television, no distractions. We grilled out, sat by the fire, stayed up late talking. I wish it happened more often!
p.s. Congrats on the book!
My magic moment was having my sister come home for Europe to spend the summer with…WONDERFUL!!!
My magic moment from this summer is when my hubby and I took our son (17 months) to the ultrasound for our second child (due in December). As soon as they started the ultrasound the baby waved and my son immediately started waving back saying “Baby! Baby!”. I don’t think that magic moment will ever be topped!
Magic moment this summer was realizing that I don’t have to overschedule activities or overplan or complicate dinner. The best times this summer was a joint potluck dinner with friends and kids that involved grilling and fresh veggie salads.
Magic Moment on the summer was on the boat on the lake looking at the sunset. love love love it
My magic moment of the summer was the day my boyfriend came home with a giant statement necklace i’d been eyeing for months and told me he wanted me to wear it on a date with him.
My son went off to Kindergarten–my mommy magical moment:)
Magic moment for me: trying on my wedding dress for the first time. I am getting married in 41 days and putting on MY dress was so magical. It made it all feel real :)
My magic moment was finally deciding to make being fit and healthy a choice rather than a challenge. My energy level has skyrocketed along with the knowledge that what I’m doing for my body is where my mind needs to be right now.
My magical moment was actually rather sad — it was visiting my fiance’s grandma at the hospice in her last few moments. It was magical because although I was very close with my own grandparents I never got an opportunity to be with them in their last dying days (I immigrated to another country). I never got to say goodbye and I never got the chance to tell them how much I loved them… I never got to express my gratitude to them for the love they gave me. Being in that room with his family while everyone gathered around to give their last tearful goodbyes was really touching to me because it almost gave me the closure that I never had when my grandparents passed away. Plus, over the years when I grieved about not saying goodbye, my mom would always tell me that perhaps it was better that way. My last memories of my grandparents wouldn’t be them suffering in debilitating pain, miserable and unhealthy; my last memories would be them smiling, laughing, and playing with me. Seeing the condition of my fiance’s grandmother on her death bed really confirmed everything my mom has been saying all these years. It was such a devastating sight, especially for the younger kids to see.
My magical moments were our sunday evening framily dinners with a rotating cast of characters and dogs.
Going to my friends lake house for 4th of July – it was so much fun!!
Standing outside our new house with my husband, looking at the yard, trees, flowers, and other landscaping we’ve spent all summer DIYing, and seeing that we have made it a home has been the most magical moment of my summer.

Last Wednesday, my boyfriend insisted on driving me to work. After driving for a little while, he pulled over and said: “You aren’t going into work today.” He explained that he had arranged (with my work) for me to be on vacation, and that he was taking me away. He brought me to the most beautiful and quaint bed and breakfast I have ever laid eyes on in Prince Edward County (http://awayinthecounty.com/). The next evening, he acted as though we were going out for dinner, but instead planned a picnic on our private balcony (with wine from local wineries and the most incredible local food items). There, as I watched the sunset completely unsuspecting, he turned on my favorite song and proposed to me. Forget summer… it was the most magical moment of my life!!! Thank you so much for this opportunity :).
